An Important Next Step

Buckle up, Gwinnett Church.  In two Sundays, we begin another ministry season together and we are already seeing signs this will be our biggest and best.  This past Sunday at 11:15 we opened up every overflow site…in the middle of July.

To prepare for what’s about to happen, we are working on a short-term and long-term solution. In the short-term, we are launching Gwinnett PM with Waumba Land and UpStreet at 4:30 on August 7.  We believe this has the potential to reach more people by opening up some room in the morning and creating another opportunity in the afternoon.   Our hope is that 500 people or more will move to 4:30 in order to help us accommodate the growth.

This creates a bit of a challenge however with our Inside Out environment for high school students because they also have been experiencing growth.  On August 7th, they are going to start meeting at 5 pm instead of 4 which will help for lots of different reasons.

All of this is a bit of a building shuffle because quite honestly we’re out of room. I believe Gwinnett PM will be our best short-term solution but we need a long-term solution as well.  The good news is that we are working toward a long-term solution. I will be sharing details on that later this Fall. In the meantime, if you have the opportunity to try out Gwinnett PM for the month of August it would be a big help in this important season.

A foundational prayer for Gwinnett Church from the very beginning has been Ephesians 3: 20, 21.  God has certainly answered our prayers for immeasurably more.  We now have the opportunity to be great stewards of this prayer by taking short-term and long-term steps.  Thank you for helping with these steps and for your decision to be a part of the beautiful story Jesus is writing here.

In the not too distant future we will look back on these days. I believe we will see God’s faithfulness and a deep appreciation that we participated with Him in all that He did at Gwinnett Church.   And all of this will create much awe and wonder in our hearts.

See you Sunday.
